. October 14, 2008

LONDON, UK, May 19, 2006. Eurostar, the high-speed passenger train service that links the UK with the Continent, has welcomed the announcement of plans to restore one of London's most famous and much loved landmarks into a five-star hotel.

The historic red-brick building fronts St Pancras International station, which will become the high speed rail gateway to Continental Europe when Eurostar moves from Waterloo International in autumn 2007.

Eurostar will operate within the wonderfully restored Victorian grand station alongside the new hotel, providing even faster and more convenient rail journeys to France and Belgium, with London - Paris down to 2hrs 15mins and London - Brussels in just 1hr 51mins.

Business and leisure travellers will benefit from modern facilities that are part of a total regeneration of the King's Cross St Pancras area, just ten minutes from the City and West End of London.

Simon Montague, Director of Communications, Eurostar said: "We are delighted that the fantastic landmark which fronts our future international station is planned to be a flagship, five-star hotel from 2009. St Pancras will become the UK's gateway to the Continent in autumn 2007, and we look forward to operating within a truly European destination station."
