. October 14, 2008

NEW YORK, NY, May 8, 2006. Travelers to Manhattan's financial district got an economic boost today with the grand opening of the upscale, focused-service, 65-room Hampton Inn Manhattan/Seaport-Financial District. At the official grand opening, ribbon cutting ceremony today, hotel officials unveiled special, limited-time, affordable weekend room rates available under $200.00 per night. The hotel also made a $1,001 donation to the New York Landmarks Preservation Foundation to help fund further projects within Manhattan's historic Seaport district. Located directly adjacent to the South Street Seaport, the nine-story hotel is situated in Manhattan's historic Seaport district at 320 Pearl Street.

'We are delighted to officially take our place within the renowned Seaport district community,' said Sal Shahriar, executive vice president of Hersha Hospitality Management, owners and operators of the hotel. 'Our strategy for building this hotel was to provide a premium-branded property that would be attractively priced for both business and leisure travelers. Part of that strategy also includes making a commitment to our neighbors and we hope our donation to fund additional projects in the area is a step towards that goal.'

In addition to a grand opening room rate, Shahriar noted that The Hampton Inn Manhattan/Seaport-Financial District offers a number of other values. 'Guests receive free high speed Internet access and local telephone calls, which can add more than $15 a night to the cost of other Manhattan hotels. Our hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast with hot and cold items, locally baked goods, seasonal fruit, and an assortment of coffees, teas and juices, as well as On-the-House breakfast bags to go for guests in a hurry. Breakfast in many Financial District full-service hotels can cost upwards of $20. Throw in such technological amenities as plasma televisions and we believe we're providing one of the best values in the city.'

Located just five blocks from Wall Street, the hotel is nearby to the Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty Ferries, Battery Park and the Brooklyn waterfront. The hotel provides panoramic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, lush outdoor spaces and terraces, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center and VegaP Architects of New York City-designed furnishings. Each room is equipped with the latest hi-tech amenities, including plasma flat screen TVs.
