InterContinental Inks Deal for Four Management Contracts in China
SHANGHAI, China, March 06, 2006. InterContinental Hotels has signed four new management contracts with Shanghai Greenland Group, a major real estate and property management company in China.
The deals include an InterContinental hotel in Nanjing, which is said to be the world's tallest hotel; a Holiday Inn property in Xi'an; and two Express by Holiday Inn hotels in Shanghai. The hotels have a combined total of more than 1,400 rooms.
Andrew Cosslett, chief executive of InterContinental Hotels Group, noted that the latest signing with Greenland Group follows a six-hotel agreement in Sichuan with the Chengdu International Exhibition & Convention Group.
The new contracts are for the following hotels: the InterContinental Nanjing, a 450-room luxury hotel scheduled to open in 2010; the 380-room Holiday Inn Greenland Xi'an opening in 2007; the 230-room Express by Holiday Inn Putuo Shanghai, to open in late 2006; and the 350-room Express by Holiday Inn Minghang Shanghai, opening in early 2007.
