Balazs' Standard Miami Opens
BELLE ISLE, FL, February 28, 2006. Owner/developer Andre Balazs has opened the 105-room Standard Miami, his second property in that city.
Located on Belle Isle, west of Miami Beach, the hotel is an updating of a 1950s-era motel. The property features its spa, which includes a Turkish-style mamam as well as steam room, sauna, and salon. Another distinctive feature: bathroom tubs sit on the guestroom terraces.
The Standard Miami's sister property in that city is The Raleigh in South Beach. In Los Angeles, Balazs owns the Chateau Mamont, the Standard Downtown LA, and the Standard Hollywood. His three New York hotels are the Mercer, the Sunset Beach, and the Hotel QT.
