Westmont and Ahuvi Mentioned as Buyers of European Hotels

LONDON, UK, February 28, 2006. According to a published report, Westmont Hospitality Group is in advanced talks to acquire 25 Holiday Inns and Crowne Plazas in continental Europe. The report said that Westmont is in the deal with a Canadian investment group, Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec. The report further noted that interest in IHG properties is coming from an Israeli real estate developer,

Yigal Ahuvi, who is about to become a major player in Europe's hotel industry. After completing the acquisition of 16 Hilton hotels in the United Kingdom, Ahuvi is being mentioned as the preferred buyer of a group of Marriott hotels. He is also reportedly taking a look at buying seven branded InterContinentals from IHG. The report said that the Royal Bank of Scotland has joined Ahuvi in the bid.
