John Q. Hammons Building Residence Inn by Marriott at Kansas City International Airport

KANSAS CITY, MO, February 7, 2006. Mr. John Q. Hammons today announced his plans to break ground on the new four-story, 150-suite Residence Inn by Marriott(R) Kansas City International Airport in Kansas City, Mo. Slated to open in fall 2006, the hotel will be owned by Mr. Hammons and will be managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC, the nation's leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites.

Strategically located east of Interstate 29 and north of Highway 152 just north of the Tiffany Springs exit, the hotel will be 1.5 miles from the Kansas City International Airport. The new Residence Inn will be the 11th hotel managed by John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts in Missouri. The company also owns and operates two additional hotels in Kansas City, Mo. - the Embassy Suites Kansas City International Airport and the Homewood Suites Kansas City International Airport.
