LodgeWorks Has Seven Hotels in Development Pipeline

. October 14, 2008

WICHITA, KS, February 06, 2006. Local hotel developer LodgeWorks LP is preparing for a busy year that will include developing seven new hotels in five states, according to published reports. In March, LodgeWorks is opening a new hotel in Poughkeepsie/ Fishkill, NY, followed by the start of construction on a hotel in Albany, NY, in the second quarter. And later in the year it will begin building another five hotels, in Washington, DC; Bellevue, WA; Long Beach, CA; Napa, CA.; and Savannah, GA.

Although the Sierra Suites extended-stay concept is LodgeWorks' primary brand- it created the brand in 2000 and still owns it- the company is now putting more emphasis on buying franchises of different brands and opening those hotels in cities that may not need an extended-stay property.

Branching out to other products, President Tony Isaac says, helps the company increase the number of projects it can work on nationwide.

The Albany hotel will be a 126-room Hilton Garden Inn. The Napa and Savannah properties may also end up as different brands, although LodgeWorks officials haven't decided which ones yet, says Cheryl Doll, vice president of distribution and marketing for LodgeWorks. The rest will be Sierra Suites.
