River Cities Hotel Partners which is comprised of Essel W Bailey Jr. of Eclectic Holdings LLC, Bob Lafkas and Howard Jackson of Midd Cities Partners, LLC, and Tom Neyer Jr. of Neyer Holdings spent more than $20 million on this project that is seen by many as the linchpin of Sharonville's "Northern Lights" plan. The building that housed the first Marriott in the Cincinnati market has been completely renewed. Renovations include two large ballrooms, including the 8,320 square foot dramatic Grand Ballroom, an elegant new main entrance and lobby now located on the building's north side and a full-service restaurant with a twist. This state of the art hotel offers wireless high-speed access throughout. The restaurant will feature a joiners' table designed to promote networking and dining with other local, national and international executives who are staying at the hotel or just stopping in for a meal.

Tom Neyer of Neyer Holdings says he is excited about the Sheraton being the newest amenity in the region's travel and tourism market, particularly as the area is rebounding with downtown revitalization and Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati suburban growth. And, he is equally excited that the Sheraton is part of the world-class Starwood Hotels & Resorts family.

The hotel's location, across the street from the Sharonville Convention Center is ideal. Neyer says, "We are excited about working with Will Greiner and his staff at the Sharonville Convention Center to provide the perfect solution for trade shows and events, daily dining, banquets and overnight accommodations in conjunction with the Center. These two top notch facilities are great partners and will enhance one another's business and success, as well as the success of the Sharonville/Chester Road area. Sharonville Mayor Virgil Lovitt agrees with Neyer. "With the convention center's 28,000 sq. ft. of function space and 1000 free parking spaces, combined with a beautiful new hotel across the street offering 18,000 sq. ft. of space and 500 free parking spaces, we offer the perfect meeting destination."

Howard Jackson of Midd Cities, the project director for the investment group says, "This hotel will return to its former glory as the premier suburban property. This project was more than a renovation, it was a transformation and we're excited about the future for this property and the Sharonville corridor." The hotel's reconfiguration and the planned convention center expansion are two major elements of Sharonville's "Northern Lights" initiative, which calls for bringing hotel, retail and entertainment developments along the Chester Road corridor.
