ATLANTA, GA, January 27, 2006. InterContinental Hotels Group announced today that a 120-room, 21st-century Holiday Inn hotel in Battle Creek, Mich., has broken ground. Developed to be more efficient to build, operate and maintain, the 80,000 sq.-ft. Holiday Inn Battle Creek will bring the iconic heritage of the Holiday Inn brand to life in a modern, innovative design that will set new standards for business travelers and families alike. The new hotel is expected to open late 2006.

The hotel's full-service restaurant will be Kem's Caf'e, a new concept from Holiday Inn named after the brand's founder, Kemmons Wilson. Kem's Caf'e will serve three meals a day featuring a wide array of "comfort food," including the Road Trip sandwich, prime rib and hickory-smoked barbeque ribs for lunch and dinner. Kem's Caf'e will offer the standard Holiday Inn Best-4-Breakfast^a menu, featuring signature items such as Cinnamon Supreme French ToastTM, Low-Carb InspirationsTM and Skillet InspirationsTM. Kids 12 and younger eat free at Holiday Inn when ordering from the kids' menu in the hotel restaurant and accompanied by a dining adult. Room Service Right...On TimeTM, also a standard at all Holiday Inn hotels, ensures that guests' room service orders are accurate and delivered on time, every time.

The next-generation design debuts a bold change in room d'ecor for Holiday Inn, creating a residential atmosphere. The bedspread and carpet will display simple, organic patterns in stand-out colors like gold, taupe, ivory and black. Each guestroom will feature a newly designed breakaway armoire that will allow guests to see the TV from anywhere in the room. Upgraded features like faux leather ottomans, a variety of lamps, refrigerators, granite vanities and chrome fixtures will all be standard in each room. The residential design will include business-focused necessities like an ergonomic work station, data ports, complimentary high speed Internet access, WiFi capabilities and AT&T VoIP phone systems, which will allow guests to conduct conference calls for up to six participants even while using their computer online. In addition, each room will have the standard Holiday Inn guestroom accommodations - comfortable double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, cable television, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.

The Holiday Inn Battle Creek will also offer a variety of other amenities such as a 1300 sq.-ft. indoor pool with deck, fitness center, complimentary parking, same-day laundry and valet, 24-hour front desk service and express checkout. With more than 5,400-sq. ft. of function space, the hotel will be available for business meetings and banquets.

The property will be conveniently located at the intersection of I-94 and Michigan 66 halfway between Detroit and Chicago. The new hotel will be just minutes from Binder Park Zoo, Full Blast Family Recreation Center and Water Park as well as Kellogg Arena.
