Intercontinental Hotels Group Expands with Waterfront Hotel

European-Style Baltimore Hotel to join InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Portfolio

ATLANTA, GA, January 6, 2006. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, announces plans to open its latest InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property in Baltimore, Md. The new InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore will join its sister hotel in Washington, D.C., the Willard InterContinental Washington, as the second InterContinental hotel in the Washington-Baltimore corridor.

Located on Baltimore's legendary Inner Harbor, the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore will be within walking distance of the downtown business district and many popular attractions. The hotel is just across the street from Harborplace & The Gallery, the Maryland Science Center and the National Aquarium. Camden Yards, the Babe Ruth Museum, The Baltimore Convention Center and the Baltimore Museum of Art are just a few blocks away.

The hotel, which offers an inviting old world charm, is being converted from the five-star Harbor Court Hotel, the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences Five Star Five Diamond Award. The property will open as the InterContinental Harbor Court Baltimore in Spring 2006.

Located at 550 Light Street, the hotel is part of a mixed-use property that includes an eight-story tower with 195 guestrooms, a 72,000 sq.-ft. office building, three luxury residential condominium towers with 175 units and a 530-space parking garage.

The property will be owned by Hospitality Properties Trust (HPT) and managed by an affiliate of InterContinental Hotels Group. HPT is a real estate investment trust headquartered in Newton, Mass., which owns 299 hotels located throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. HPT currently owns four other InterContinental hotels.
