ORLANDO, FL. January 6, 2006. After undergoing a multi-million-dollar renovation, the Royal Plaza in the WALT DISNEY WORLD^a Resort reopened and checked in its first guests today. The independently operated hotel has been closed since August 2004, when it sustained damages from Hurricane Charley.

"We're excited to welcome the first guests to check-in at the new, more contemporary Royal Plaza," said Bill Green, the hotel's director of sales. "We're confident that our guests whether they're in town for business or pleasure will enjoy our 'Royal Beds" and the other enhancements we've made."

As part of the renovation project, all of the Royal Plaza's 394 oversized guest rooms have been outfitted with plush, new carpeting and drapes; custom, over-stuffed pillow-top "Royal Beds" and premium linens; curved shower rods; granite countertops and Bath & Body Works amenities; plus pull-out sleeper sofas and an in-room media package (featuring first-run movies, video games, high-speed Internet and more). Many of the hotel's guest rooms have oversized tubs and will soon feature plasma TVs.

In addition, all public areas (including restaurants, lounges and ballrooms) now feature wireless Internet access, new artwork, carpeting and tile, wall coverings and furniture. New landscaping and repainting the exterior of the hotel from pink to warm honeysuckle also was part of the makeover.

The Royal Plaza in the WALT DISNEY WORLD^a Resort is a unique full-service, independently owned hotel located on Disney property and within walking distance to DOWNTOWN DISNEY(R). The hotel also offers more than 17,500 square feet of flexible meeting and event space (which can accommodate groups from 20 to 1,100 people), as well as a 5,000-square-foot outdoor Crowne courtyard with a cascading water fountain as the focal point.
