Club Med Celebrates Inauguration of Buccaneers Creek Resort in Martinique

CORAL GABLES, FL, December 20, 2005. Club Med debuted its new $60 million Club Med Buccaneers Creek resort on the French West Indies island of Martinique on Saturday, December 17. The reopening of this spectacular resort, set on one of the islands most beautiful beaches, represents an important step in Club Meds ongoing global expansion and its commitment to the needs of todays upscale traveler.

The new weekly non-stop charter flights from New York Citys JFK International Airport to Fort-de-France in Martinique get our guests to Buccaneers Creek in time for lunch, commented Club Med Americas President and C.E.O. John Vanderslice, who accompanied guests on the inaugural flight. Regular weekly non-stop charter flights to Martinique will begin officially on February 1.

A group of dignitaries from Martinique welcomed the inaugural flight passengers at the entrance of the new Club Med Buccaneers Creek to kick off the celebration. A host of celebratory festivities were planned throughout the evening to properly christen the resort, along with a range of first gifts for attendees.

The new Club Med Buccaneers Creek stands on the site of the original resort which, since its opening in 1969, has become legendary in the Americas, virtually redefining the resort experience. The resort offers a truly upscale experience in signature Club Med style, featuring the companys popular Total All-Inclusivetm offerings.
