BOSTON, MA, December, 20, 2005. Boston's newest boutique hotel, Hotel 140, recently opened its doors in the prominent Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. Located steps from Copley Square, Newbury Street shops and the South End's many restaurants at 140 Clarendon Street, Hotel 140 offers travelers 40 distinct and modern guest rooms and a host of amenities-all at a price you wouldn't expect in the Back Bay.

"Hotel 140 caters to travelers looking for comfort, convenience, quality and friendly service at affordable prices - whether guests are in town for a business meeting, shopping weekend in the city or attending a city wedding," said Susan Donahue, Hotel 140 Marketing Consultant.

Each room features contemporary designer d'ecor as well as high-tech amenities, and provides significant views of the Back Bay and South End. Guests have access to the twenty-four hour business center and fitness rooms, but can also use select area fitness centers at discounted rates. Terra Cotta Caf'e is conveniently located in the hotel and provides a complimentary continental breakfast to all its guests, and afternoon coffee and tea services are offered in the hotel lounges. The hotel can also accommodate everything from business meetings to intimate wedding receptions. On-site catering is also available.

"We are thrilled to be in this newly renovated building and historic location that lends to the hotel's contemporary and comfortable atmosphere," continues Susan Donahue.

Hotel 140 was part of a $30 million overhaul and massive renovation of the historic YWCA building. The building's mix of residential, cultural and administrative spaces offers the community a unique combination of facilities. The Clarendon Residences features 44 one-bedroom apartments, 12 studio apartments and 88-single room apartments. Nearly 8,000 square feet of competitively priced and newly renovated office space are also part of the building. Approximately 2,000 square feet of function space is available for guests and community organizations to hold conferences, meetings and events. Other community institutions such as the YWCA of Boston, Lyric Stage Company of Boston and Snowden International High School are also located in the building.
