W Breaks Ground in Hoboken

HOBOKEN, NJ, December 18, 2005. Local residential developer Applied Development Co. has broken ground here on its first hotel project, a 25-story hotel-condominium tower that will carry Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide's W flag.

The 225-room hotel will occupy the first 16 stories of the building with 40 condominium residences occupying the top nine stories. New York-based Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects, LLC, is responsible for the tower's wedge shaped design. Completion is scheduled for early-2007.

In addition to guestrooms, the hotel will include a destination restaurant and lounge, full-service spa, and 11,000-square feet of meeting space.
