PHUKET, Thailand, December 8, 2005. Sainamyen Co Ltd has opened the Andaman Bazaar on Patong Beach in Phuket, offering high-end food and entertainment as well as fashion shops to Thai and foreign visitors.

About 85 percent of the space in the 3,522- square-metre, four-storey bazaar, which lies on a four-rai plot in front of Club Andaman Beach Resort on the northern end of Patong Beach, has been rented out.

Nold Swangjang, the project's manager, said there were 41 units on the ground floor selling brands such as Aody Gems, Nina Fashion, Cornelli Collection and Phuket Mermaid. Space has also been earmarked for a minimart, pharmacy and a photo shop.

The second, third and fourth floors house restaurants including Rock City Pub and Restaurant, which hosts rock music from Sweden; Pomodoro for Italian cuisine; Pasta Freshla for modern food; Alfresco Bar and Sea Breeze Cafe. The Saxophone Pub and Restaurant also rents a separate five-storey building from the company.

Mr Nold said the company had allocated 60-70 percent of the bazaar's total area for food and beverage outlets to complement its adjacent hotel business, Club Andaman Beach Resort. Rental rates are between 600 and 1,200 baht per square metre per month.

The company spent 36 million baht developing the project, construction took about five months to complete, and the bazaar officially opened last Thursday.

"The company expects to get a return on the investment in a suitable period as the project is located in a prime location," Mr Nold said.
