MURFREESBORO, TN / SPRINGFIELD, MO, November 28, 2005. Mr. John Q. Hammons today announced his plans to develop a 10-story, 280-suite Embassy Suites Hotel(R) and adjoining 80,000 square-foot conference center in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The first development of its kind for the city, the hotel will be owned by Mr. Hammons, and the hotel and conference center will be managed by Springfield, Mo.-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC, the nation's leading independent builder, developer, owner and manager of upscale, full-service hotels, resorts and suites.

The all-suite, luxury property and conference center are scheduled to open in the fall of 2007 with construction slated to begin by Q1 2006. Located in Rutherford County, the Murfreesboro Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center marks the second full-service hotel and the first convention center Mr. Hammons has built in Tennessee.

"Serving as the county seat for Rutherford County, Murfreesboro is located in one of the fastest-growing counties in the state and has something to offer for everyone who lives in or visits its thriving community," said Mr. John Q. Hammons, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts, LLC. "We have built a strong relationship with Rutherford County and the city of Murfreesboro, and we support their commitment to cultivate this ever-growing community. With a variety of businesses, historical attributes, major attractions and cities surrounding its perimeters, the location is an ideal site for an upscale hotel and state-of-the-art conference center that can accommodate both small and large groups."

Murfreesboro and Rutherford County's central location in Tennessee make it a prime area for development as the county is within 500 miles of 75 percent of the nation's population centers. The new hotel and conference center will be strategically located in Murfreesboro on Medical Center Parkway in the northeast quadrant of I-24 and Interstate 840.

Mr. Hammons' development will be adjacent to a planned lifestyle center, "The Avenue." A joint venture between Faison & Associates and Cousins Properties, the lifestyle center will feature over 900,000 square-feet of restaurant, home furnishings and fashion shopping in an open-air setting. The hotel and convention center will also be easily accessible from Middle Tennessee State University, the second largest university comprising the largest undergraduate enrollment in the state with 22,500 students, and will be within minutes from the Nashville International Airport, Murfreesboro Municipal Airport and Smyrna Airport. In addition, the development is near several significant business hubs, including Nissan, Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire, Cumberland Swan, General Mills, Ingram Books, State Farm Insurance, Verizon and Whirlpool.

"John Q. Hammons Hotels is known for its high caliber properties, and we eagerly await the completion and opening of the Murfreesboro Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center," said Tommy Bragg, mayor of the city of Murfreesboro. "Rutherford County has experienced the fastest job growth rate in the country and is the fastest growing county in Tennessee, so Mr. Hammons' hotel and conference center will help with the increased need for hotel rooms and meeting space. We are certain that the development will continue the high level of quality that was visualized for the area from the start."
