SHANGHAI, November 24, 2005. Le M'eridien Hotels & Resorts continues its global expansion strategy with the opening of Le M'eridien She Shan Shanghai. Le M'eridien's first property in Mainland China, the hotel offers a new concept for the meetings, incentive, conference, and convention business in Shanghai. Visitors will have the chance to meet in a setting that delivers a "Retreat in Style".

Le M'eridien She Shan, Shanghai offers a unique environment where the combination of modernity and natural surroundings create an atmosphere of peace. The area is also home to the oldest cathedral in the East, The She Shan Observatory, and Natural Bird Park; guests will find it difficult to believe they are only 40 minutes from the bustle of the city.

The hotel boasts over 300 rooms and a conference capacity of nearly 2,500 guests, while set in 47 kilometres of natural countryside. It is conveniently located, just a taxi-ride away from the domestic airport (20 minutes from Hongqiao Airport, 60 minutes from Pudong, and just 40 minutes from downtown Shanghai.

Facilities for the discerning meetings, incentives and exhibition markets will include state-of-the-art AV facilities and on-site translators. A spa with treatment rooms will open shortly.
