MELBOURNE, Australia, November 23, 2005. Melbourne's hottest new address - Docklands - has its first internationally branded accommodation with the launch today of Docklands Serviced Apartments - Grand Mercure.

The Docklands development has been Melbourne's most dramatic urban redevelopment project, providing a dynamic new residential and business precinct on the waterfront with an impressive range of bars, restaurants and boutiques all located along the waterfront.

Two bedroom/two bathroom apartments are available from $270 a night, and three bedroom apartments with harbour views are available for $390 a night.

Serviced apartments have grown enormously in popularity in recent years as people have discovered the benefits of having all the comforts of home with the convenience of hotel services. They are popular with couples planning special dinner parties or weekend soirees, businesspeople needing accommodation that doubles as a meeting area or long-stay guests wanting their own kitchen and laundry facilities but who still want someone else to make the bed after a long day at work.

The apartments are part of the $1 billion residential, retail and commercial precinct developed by MAB that has transformed the Docklands area.
