. October 14, 2008

SIEM REAP, Cambodia, November 23, 2005. H^otel de la Paix, which has set new standards for chic design, held its Grand Opening in Siem Reap on November 5, 2005. A member of Small Luxury Hotels, H^otel de la Paix offers guests a totally unique experience of Cambodia.

The Gala Event was attended by several of Cambodia's leading Government and Tourism officials including H.R.H Prince Norodom Sirivudh, Deputy Prime Minister, and H.E. Lay Prohas, Minister of Tourism.

Highlighting the evening was a special performance by "Phi Ruah" with a celebration of Cambodian image, movement and memory. The dance, created and performed by impoverished local children who are forced to beg on the streets of Siem Reap, gave invited guests a glimpse of their reality and at the same time the hope of a brighter future.

The Angkor Photo Festival, in conjunction with the Life & Hope Association and the monks of Wat Damnak, are responsible for this community initiative. Their aim is to take these thirty children from the streets via education, food support, language, photo and dance classes.

Hotel de la Paix encourages guests to support the local community with sponsorships for education, food supplies and support for NGO programmes in Cambodia. "We are proud as an international hotel to be supporting the needs of the local community," said Mr. Joe Polito, General Manager

Hotel De La Paix, a five start boutique hotel, created by internationally-acclaimed designer Bill Bensley, offers 107 stylish guestrooms and suites. The hotel, located only six kilometres from the magnificent UNESCO-world heritage site of Angkor, is set around an inner courtyard of gardens and Khmer-style water features. The design is complemented by Khmer influences that embrace the future while respecting the past.

H^otel de la Paix offers guests a unique lifestyle experience with hi-tech amenities including state-of-the-art iPods with music and historical narrative which are available for outside excursions. DVD players are provided in all 23 suites.

Interactive performances were provided by Bed Management Co., Ltd. which also operates Bed Supperclub in Bangkok.
