Carlson Signs 23 Properties in First Quarter of 2009

TORONTO, Canada, April 29, 2009 - Carlson Hotels Worldwide today announced that it has signed franchise or management agreements for 23 new properties in the first quarter of 2009, including the Park Inn & Suites Dawson Creek, British Columbia, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2009. The new hotels and resorts span 14 countries, including 10 Radisson and Radisson Blu properties; six Country Inns & Suites By Carlsonsm properties; and seven Park Inn locations. The company also announced 16 new hotel openings since the start of 2009, adding locations in Germany, France, India, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Brazil, the Czech Republic and the United States. Carlson's worldwide portfolio currently totals 1,015 hotels with more than 151,000 rooms in 72 countries. Carlson hotel brands also include Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Regent Hotels & Resorts.

Park Inn signed seven new properties in the first quarter of 2009 with locations in Canada, Russia, Switzerland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. The brand also opened four new hotels since the start of the year with locations in Germany, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic.

The Park Inn & Suites Dawson Creek, British Columbia, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2009, will feature 62 rooms, including seven studio suites and 2 two-room suites. A tourist attraction for many decades, Dawson Creek sits at the start of the Alaska-Canadian (ALCAN) Highway, only three blocks west of the hotel.

Beautifully situated in the area known as Prague 2, the new Park Inn Prague hotel is just a stone's throw away from the river Vltava and Vysehrad Castle. Originally built in 1907, the hotel is a testament to Art Deco design and promises to be the perfect base for both leisure and business travelers. The Park Inn Prague features 210 modern and well-equipped guest rooms, a fitness room, a large conference area and the RBG Bar & Brill that can accommodate up to 140 people.

Additional Park Inn openings in the first quarter include the Park Inn Muscat, Oman; Park Inn Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia; and Park Inn Berlin City West, Germany.
