. April 27, 2009

APRIL 27, 2009 - Shamin Hotels, one of the leading hotel management companies on the East Coast, today announces the opening of a Hampton Inn at Richmond International Airport (RIC). Joining the new Holiday Inn and Hilton Garden Inn, this is the third hotel Shamin has opened at RIC in the past six months. These hotels join three other Shamin properties at the airport; a Homewood Suites, a Holiday Inn Express and a Comfort Inn.

"Richmond International Airport has seen 34 consecutive months of growth," said Neil Amin, chief executive officer of Shamin Hotels. "Very few cities the size of Richmond can boast of having non-stop flights to 8 of the 10 largest metropolitan areas in the US. The airport commission has done a wonderful job in creating a first-class terminal and we hope to support the airport and it's travelers with high-quality business class hotels."

NASCAR comes to Richmond on May 2nd for the Sprint Cup Series. Shamin hopes the RIC properties will give event goers a multitude of options when it comes to accommodations for the event weekend. "We are extremely pleased with the construction and opening crews," said Sunnie Amin, regional director of operations. "They have worked very hard to ensure the hotel would be open and ready for the NASCAR teams and fans on May 1st and 2nd. The Hotel is hosting the John Andretti Race Team and we are certain they will be pleased with the brand new facility."

The new 70,375 square foot Hampton Inn stands 5 stories tall and features 104 rooms. Well suited for business travelers, this hotel offers a business center, a fitness center and an indoor pool. The Hampton Inn is one of the first Hampton Hotels in Virginia with the latest innovations introduced by Hilton. In particular, the Hampton Inn Richmond Airport boasts the "Perfect Mix Lobby", a design concept that provides a space to guests that meets their needs beyond the traditional breakfast hours. The lobby is designed to create an atmosphere that promotes guest socialization. This is an added amenity providing guests an extension of their rooms. The space is transformed during different times of the day to the appropriate mood setting and utilizes a zoned approach to define unique spaces and provide additional seating. According to Hilton, the "Perfect Mix Lobby" says "We love having you here" - all day long.

The new 80,886 square foot Hilton Garden Inn Richmond Airport stands 5 stories tall and features 130 rooms plus a beautiful 2,365 square foot ballroom divisible by three for smaller meetings. The meeting rooms are named after famous aviators from Richmond who made significant contributions to aviation: Howard Baugh, T. Fleetwood Garner, Kenneth Rowe and Spencer Rice. The Ballroom is named the Aviator Room. Guest rooms feature the self-adjusting Garden Sleep System(R) bed, a large work desk with ergonomic Mirra chair by Herman Miller, individual climate control, innovative, easy-to-set alarm clock radio with adaptor for portable music player and a 32" high-definition LCD TV. Hotel amenities include complimentary wireless & wired high-speed Internet access throughout, an indoor heated pool with hot tub, a fitness center, a 24 hour business center, and a lobby bar with lounge area adjacent to a full service restaurant.

The new full-service Holiday Inn Richmond Airport stands six stories tall with 143 rooms and 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including the largest ballroom in the area. The hotel features the latest construction design from Holiday Inn with a modern and attractive facility. This is only the second in Virginia to feature such a design, the other being located in Colonial Heights - also owned and operated by Shamin Hotels. In addition to deluxe luxurious rooms and ample meeting and event space, the hotel also offers a business center, fitness center and heated indoor pool, plus complimentary wireless high speed Internet access. The Holiday Inn will also feature the upscale 1607 Bistro & Bar serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

"Richmond International Airport welcomes the arrival of the three new Shamin Hotels properties to serve travelers utilizing commercial flight services available from RIC," said airport president and CEO Jon E. Mathiasen, AAE. "The addition of a new-construction Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hampton Inn offers valuable new hospitality choices for RIC customers traveling to and from the region."
