Homewood to Build in Birmingham Area

MARCH 25, 2009 - Homewood Suites by Hilton(R), the international brand of all-suite, residential-style hotels, today announced the approval of a franchise application for the construction of a new hotel in Homewood, Ala. To be located at I-65 and Lakeshore Dr., the hotel is set to break ground within the next year, with an anticipated opening in 2011. The five-story hotel will contain 94 guest suites, fitness center, outdoor pool and 1,000 square feet of meeting space. Franchisee holder for the new project is Chiman S. Patel.

This Homewood, Ala. location will be the ninth property for the brand in the state of Alabama. Two Homewood Suites hotels are under construction in the Birmingham area and another in Mobile. Currently opened hotels include those in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Daphne, and Montgomery.
