Rocco Forte Hotels' property in Munich promises to bring a new standard of excellence to the German
MUNICH, Germany, October 21, 2005. Rocco Forte Hotels is delighted to introduce its Munich property, Hotel Ludwig. Rocco Forte Hotel's newest hotel will open in spring 2007. Hotel Ludwig is one of three properties that Rocco Forte Hotels is currently developing in Germany, making it the country's market leader in the luxury hotel industry. Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt will open in January 2006 and Hotel de Rome in Berlin will open in July 2006. The new Rocco Forte Hotels are set to significantly raise the standard of excellence for the German hotel industry.
Located in the heart of the Bavarian city of Munich, on the edge of the Botanical Gardens, guests of the Hotel Ludwig will be guaranteed a peaceful haven. Hotel Ludwig is named for the eccentric and theatrical monarch, King Ludwig II, who ruled Bavaria in the 19th century. King Ludwig built three extravagant fairytale castles that have inspired the likes of Walt Disney, often staged plays and operas at his palaces, and was an inspiration to his contemporary writers, including Wagner. The Hotel Ludwig is characterized by the same essence of the monarch's adventure, art and charm.
The Hotel Ludwig design has been overseen by Rocco Forte Hotels' Director of Design, Olga Polizzi. The D'ecor of the Hotel Ludwig will take on a local theme, with Bavarian limestone in the bathrooms and original paintings by Munich's celebrated 19th century artist, Franz von Lenbach, in the bedrooms.
The eight-story, $85 million hotel will have 132 spacious guestrooms and 28 suites, a restaurant with two private dining rooms, a ballroom with accommodates for up to 400 guests, a bar and a health centre with a swimming pool, sauna, five treatment rooms and the latest cardiovascular gym equipment. Business clients will have use of eight meeting rooms, all equipped with all the latest technology.
