Richard Cimilluca Appointed DS&M for Palace at Somerset Park

OMERSET, NJ, August 18, 2008. The Palace at Somerset Park has named Richard Cimilluca director of sales & marketing for the luxurious property, located in suburban Somerset County. Marc Hamel, general manager, made the announcement.

"I am thrilled to welcome Rich to The Palace," said Mr. Hamel. "He brings vast knowledge of our market to his new role, as well as significant professional experience that will be immensely beneficial to our business."

In his new role, Mr. Cimilluca is responsible for growing both corporate and social business at The Palace. As well, Cimilluca has assumed the challenge of evolving The Palace's brand positioning to include new products designed to significantly enhance the day meeting and special event experience at the luxury property. He will manage the launch of these new product offerings, which will soon be formally announced by The Palace.

A hospitality veteran with more than two decades of leadership experience, Rich Cimilluca has been active in the conference center and hotel industries within the regional and national markets during his many years of service. A recognized sales & marketing expert, he was the first non-board member of the International Association of Conference Centers to be asked to chair the prestigious global association's Marketing Committee.

Mr. Cimilluca was previously opening director of sales & marketing for The Heldrich, the luxury hotel and conference center located in downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey, and which serves as a major anchor of the city's remarkable renaissance. He has served as the director of sales & marketing for the Four Diamond North Maple Inn of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, where he was actively involved in repositioning the hotel to a fully commercial facility, growing revenues substantially with his successful sales & marketing team.

Rich Cimilluca has served as director of sales & marketing at the Forrestal Hotel, located in Princeton, New Jersey, and was instrumental in the successful repositioning of this property. He was also director of sales & marketing for the hotel when it was known as The Scanticon Princeton. He served as national sales manager for Scanticon International, Inc., based at the company's national sales office in Manhattan. Early in his career, Rich Cimilluca held sales management positions of increasing responsibility for Sheraton and Hilton Hotels.

Mr. Cimilluca is a member of Meeting Professionals International, New Jersey chapter, and the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University of Manchester, New Hampshire, and has participated in numerous educational programs in sales & marketing leadership. He and his family reside in Hillsborough, New Jersey.
