. October 14, 2008

JULY 14, 2008. David Feder, a distinguished 30-year veteran of hotel and resort management, has been appointed general manager of the legendary Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Aventura, Fla.

In his new position, Feder will lead all aspects of the Mobil Four Star, 392-room resort, which recently completed a $100 million transformation. For the past two years, he served as president and general manager of Fontainebleau Miami Beach, where he's credited with overseeing the iconic resort's $1 billion renaissance set for completion this fall. Both Fontainebleau and Turnberry Isle are owned by the Soffer family of Turnberry Associates, a premier real estate development company based in Aventura.

Prior to joining Fontainebleau, Feder was president of PGA National Resort & Club and also served as president and chief operating officer of Boca Resorts, Inc., where he directed the company's unique collection of properties, including its flagship Boca Raton Resort & Club. Feder also was senior vice president and managing director of the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.

'David's expertise in upscale golf resorts and club operations makes him ideally suited to lead this remarkable property,' said Philip S. Goldfarb, President & Chief Operating Officer of Turnberry Associates. 'He's done excellent work laying the foundation at Fontainebleau and we are thrilled he will now be heading our Turnberry Isle team.'

He succeeds Darrell Sheaffer, who will assume the position of general manager for the Fairmont Palm Hotel & Resort in Dubai, a 377-room luxury resort with 588 vacation ownership residences that's scheduled to open in 2009. The hotel will include extensive meeting space, outdoor leisure facilities including a beach club and beach restaurant, a pool complex and children's activity center, as well as a variety of dining facilities featuring sea, garden or pool views and a Willow Stream spa.

The Mediterranean-style Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club is located on 300 secluded tropical acres and features two 18-hole Raymond Floyd-redesigned championship golf courses, a state-of-the-art tennis center, the exclusive, award-winning Willow Stream Spa and fitness center, new lagoon-style pool, a diverse selection of restaurants, including Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak, and 40 square-feet of meeting space.
