. October 14, 2008

HOUSTON, TX, July 10, 2008. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced that Cheyenne Mountain Resort, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has been recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work For in Colorado for 2008. The announcement came from a consortium of human resource, business and employment resources, which conducted the statewide survey. The resort is one of only 15 companies in the state that made the list this year in the Large Companies category (250 employees or more). In addition, Cheyenne Mountain Resort enjoys the special distinction of being the only hotel among all the 2008 winners.

"Recognition as one of the best companies to work for in Colorado validates our total commitment to creating a working environment for our employees that is second to none," said Laura Neumann, Benchmark's vice president and general manager of Cheyenne Mountain Resort. "We believe that when you treat each person on the staff as a valued member of a team, who has an important role to play and is rewarded for hard work and achievements, then not only are you going to have employees who are happier but also more loyal and effective."

The Best Companies to Work For in Colorado initiative is a collaborative effort among its many partners, which include the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Colorado State Council, as well as the six local SHRM chapters, Jobing.com, Colorado Biz Magazine, and the Best Companies Group.

The Best Companies Group, assisted by ModernThink, LLC, conducted an assessment of participating companies, employing a two-part comprehensive survey that was designed to gather detailed data about each company. In the first part of the survey, employers completed a questionnaire that captured information about policies, practices and demographics. The second part of the survey gathered significant feedback from the employees of each company, doing so in three parts: Two open-ended questions, seven demographic questions, and approximately 65 statements that employees respond to using a five-point scale.
