Philip Dailey Named GM of SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills

JULY 2, 2008. It was announced today that Philip Dailey has been appointed General Manager of the new 297-room, Philippe Starck-designed SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, scheduled to open this fall in Los Angeles. SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills will be the first SLS property to open under LA-based SBE's new luxury hotel brand - SLS Hotels. SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills will be managed by The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, a glittering ensemble of more than 65 of the world's finest hotels and resorts in more than 26 countries. In his new role, Dailey will oversee the hotel's day-to-day operations and be responsible for managing a staff of 420.

Dailey has more than 20 years of management experience in the luxury hospitality sector including more than 10 years experience serving in a General Manager capacity for various luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Dailey has spent the last six years with Asian-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, most recently serving as General Manager of the 281-room Shangri-La Chiang Mai in Thailand where he was responsible for managing the hotel's grand opening last year. During his tenure at Shangri-La, he served as General Manager of the Putrajaya Shangri-La. , a

room luxury boutique hotel, in Putrajaya, Malaysia for four years and prior to that position served as Executive Assistant Manager for the 699-room Makati Shangri-La in the Philippines.

The skills and tenacity Dailey has demonstrated in his previous positions will be a valuable asset to SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills. Prior to his tenure at Shangri-La, Dailey spent over six years at Ian Schrager Hotels serving in a General Manager capacity, which included the Miramar in Santa Barbara, California and New York City's Morgans Hotel. He also served Executive Assistant Manager for The Delano Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Throughout the early to mid-1990s and late 1980s, Dailey worked in various front office and housekeeping management positions with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, respectively. He began his illustrious hospitality career as a corporate management trainee with Hyatt Hotels Corporation in 1986. Dailey received a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
