. October 14, 2008

JULY 1, 2008. Atlanta-based America's Best Franchising has named veteran marketing professional David MacKenzie as director of business development for Asia, based in Singapore.

MacKenzie will focus on growing the company's premium "3 Palms" hotel and resort brand, as well as its two upper economy brands - Country Hearth Inns & Suites and America's Best Inn & Suites.

MacKenzie, an independent consultant specializing in marketing and branding, has held key executive and account management positions with such leading advertising agencies as Batey; Dentsu, Young & Rubicam; Needham International; and McCann-Erickson International. An alumnus of Yale University, he has led work on behalf of companies that include The Coca-Cola Company, AT&T, Nestle, General Motors, McDonald's, Proctor & Gamble, and the Singapore Tourism Board.

"The 3 Palms brand is especially suited for Asia's growing upscale travel market, while Country Hearth, for example, suggests the comfortable, down-home accommodations that appeal to economy-minded travelers," said Doug Collins, chairman and CEO of America's Best Franchising Incorporated.

"Our Country Hearth and America's Best brands have generated considerable interest in recent years among master franchisees in Canada, South America and Africa - and with David MacKenzie's active assistance, we now look forward to duplicating that enthusiasm in Asia."
