JUNE 19, 2008. A 73-room Microtel Inn & Suites hotel has opened at 136 North Comrie Avenue in the historic city of Johnstown, New York, off Route 30A and the New York State Thruway (I-90) at exit 28. Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, the property is close to area business centers and restaurants, in addition to numerous walking trails, golf courses, lakes, canoe routes, skiing and snowmobiling.

The new hotel showcases the Microtel brand's award-winning new prototype design, and boasts a contemporary and streamlined environment with unexpected amenities that guests would not ordinarily expect to find in an economy hotel. It is owned by DHC of Johnstown LLC, of Saratoga Springs, NY.

Microtel Inn & Suites is the award-winning chain of all-new construction, interior corridor economy/limited service hotels. For the sixth consecutive year, Microtel has been ranked highest in guest satisfaction among economy hotel chains in the J.D. "Microtel defines the economy hotel of the future and sets a new standard for travelers," said Gary E. Castens, part owner of the property with Candace E. Calvin, both of Saratoga Springs, and David K. House of Chestertown, NY. "The Johnstown area is quickly growing and this will help answer the need for a new hotel with quality and comfortable accommodations with great service and reasonable rates."

The three-story Johnstown Microtel Inn & Suites offers single, double and suite accommodations.
