Mount Washington Resort to Expand

Larger Meeting & Event Facilities to Debut in December 2008

. October 14, 2008

JUNE 5, 2008. Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH, will debut an additional 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space in December 2008. This is part of the Resort's $50 million renovation which will further define the historic Grande Dame as a four-season resort destination. The expansion will bring the Resort's total event space to 30,000 square feet with 18 unique meeting rooms, solidifying the property's reputation as an ideal locale for business retreats, group events, meetings and weddings.

From intimate boardrooms to large ballrooms with panoramic views of the Presidential Mountain Range, including Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, the Resort's expanded space has been designed to accommodate groups of up to 1,000 people at The Mount Washington Hotel, Bretton Arms Inn and The Lodge. The Hotel will introduce six new meeting rooms in December named after past Presidents - Washington, Jefferson, Reagan, Monroe, Madison and Adams. The new meeting rooms located on The Hotel's patio level will range from 800 to 3,600 square feet and will reflect the same grand architecture, high ceilings and stately design as The Hotel's existing rooms. In addition to the 900-foot wrap-around Veranda, which recently underwent an extensive restoration, the Presidential Garden, located adjacent to The Hotel, will offer a superb venue for outdoor affairs during the warmer-weather months as will the Jewell Terrace ---| the new rooftop garden that extends from the Veranda and tops the new meeting facility.

The Resort staff is skilled in orchestrating events for any agenda, in facilities adaptable to suit every special requirement. A Conference Coordinator is assigned to each event and works with the client directly to ensure all needs are met. The Resort is no newcomer to hosting meetings and groups - the Gold Room was the site of the signing of all major documents at the Bretton Woods International Monetary Conference in 1944, when delegates from 44 nations congregated at The Hotel to conduct this momentous meeting.

Mount Washington Resort continues to offer a wide-array of group packages that include lodging accommodations, meals, morning and afternoon breaks, group activities and event space. From the Bed & Breakfast plan to the Complete Meeting, packaging is available to suit every need.

The expanded meeting and event space is just one of many significant renovations and enhancements scheduled to take place over the next few years at Mount Washington Resort. A new full-service 25,000 square-foot spa will also debut in December 2008 along with the new meeting space. A $2 million restoration of The Hotel's Veranda, Great Hall and Dining Room was completed in May 2007 and a $7 million renovation of the Resort's two golf courses is underway with the 18-hole Mount Washington Course, having been caringly restored to its original Donald Ross design, scheduled to open August 1, 2008. Plans for the proposed development of approximately 1,000 new homes and home sites over the next decade are also underway with the first offerings expected to become available in 2008.
