Includes Transforming Three Floors Into 'Gold' Rooms

. October 14, 2008

DALLAS, TX, April 4, 2008. Toronto-based Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, one of the world's leading luxury hotel brands, announced today the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation of its Fairmont Dallas property. The renovations, including all guest rooms and suites as well as the construction of the brand's upscale Fairmont Gold concept were completed in the first quarter of 2008. The total renovation package was $14 million.

During Phase One, each of the property's 545 elegant guestrooms was completely redesigned in warm hues of claret and hunter green evoking a "masculine club" feel with special accents including argyle and dragonfly patterned decorative pillows in a complimentary color palette. A luxurious lounge chair in simulated ostrich adds a touch of modern elegance and the deep pile carpet is reminiscent of nature with leaves and vines in beautiful earth tones.

New pillow top Simmons/Empyrium mattresses are dressed in clean, modern crisp white linens and each room features new duvets, dust ruffles, accent pillows and chenille throws for our guests' comfort. The Fairmont Dallas has added high-definition, flat-screen televisions in every room and has upgraded its technology to offer wireless high-speed internet access throughout the hotel. All deluxe rooms, suites and Gold rooms will also now feature alarm clock radios with MP3 docking stations.

"Transitional to traditional describes the design of the guest room corridors," says interior designer Virginia Bell of V.B. Designs. Inc, who goes on to say, "I chose neutral walls and carpets accented by a bold, bisque color for the doors which adds a pop of color and vibrancy to the area and helps guests transition from the formality of the hotel entrance and lobby into the old-world warmth and charm of the guest rooms."

Phase Two, on floors seventeen through nineteen in the North Tower, were gutted and transformed into the brand's specialty FAIRMONT GOLD, a luxury hotel-within-a-hotel. According to Sales & Marketing Director, Shannah Milstead, "Fairmont Gold has been created for the high end leisure traveler and the business customer who demand first class accommodations and service in every aspect of their travel experience."

Fairmont Gold has been designed to reflect the exciting, vibrant and unexpected personality of Dallas in tones of aqua and persimmon. Private check-in, a separate dedicated staff, numerous upgraded room amenities, luxurious bathrooms and elegant contemporary furnishings, plus a private Concierge lounge offer guests all the comforts of home combined with an upscale atmosphere within the 47 rooms, which also include 6 deluxe rooms and 6 suites.

In keeping with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' award-winning ways, eco-friendly materials have been included throughout the project like veneered case goods made of reconstituted zebrawood and LED lights.

Each room and suite in Fairmont Gold features sweeping city views and welcomes guests with an elegant residential feel of live plants, magazine racks with current issues of favorite publications and a gentleman's valet stand complete with a clothing brush, shoehorn and even collar stays.

Top of the line Sterns & Foster mattresses in each Fairmont Gold bedroom insure a restful night's sleep especially accompanied by new feather pillows, duvets, decorative pillows and a special menu offering guests a choice of bed pillows from soft to extra firm.

Additional amenities in Fairmont Gold include marble bathrooms detailed with recycled glass accent tiles, waffle-weave bathrobes, oversized bath sheets and imported Miller Harris Cologne 1888 soaps, shampoo, lotion, and bath salts.
