Harbor Beach Marriott Provides Cocktail Concierge

Made-to-order Cocktails Served via a Cocktail Cart in the Guest Room

. October 14, 2008

Fort Lauderdale, FL, April 7, 2008. Redefining room service, Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa announces the latest in-room amenity: The Living Room Martinis. Newly-appointed cocktail concierges mix up martinis (shaken or stirred), muddle mojitos and craft any number of guests' favorite libations and tropical beverages in the comfort of one's seaside guest room. In lieu of traditional serving trays, all made-to-order cocktails are served via a Cocktail Cart. This personalized service is available daily from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 a.m. upon request, for a standard 20% service charge.

"We designed this innovative in-room amenity to further enhance the guest experience," said David Cronin, director of food and beverage at the Fort Lauderdale resort. "Our service team is dedicated to setting the bar - in this case, figuratively and literally - for personalized, luxury service."

To launch this new F&B amenity, the service team attended training on pour technique with the industry's premier beverage operations and systems specialist, Bar Starz. The team also received instruction on cocktail preparation, butler etiquette and the correct usage of ingredients. The senior team then hosted daily seminars for the new cocktail concierges on how to properly serve in-room beverages. Cocktail concierges will also lend their expertise to pair a beer or wine (by the bottle or glass) to accompany one's meal in the convenience of their room.

The debut of this program coincides with the completion of the resort's $25-million redesign of all guest rooms and suites, which now feature flat screen televisions, enhanced furnishings and Marriott Revive(R) bedding.

Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, a four-diamond rated resort tucked away on 16 oceanfront acres, is Fort Lauderdale's classic destination resort. The resort has just completed a $25 million rooms and suites renovation that makes its accommodations as warm and relaxed as its private beach. All 650 guest rooms and suites feature 32-inch flat screen televisions and deluxe Marriott (R) bedding with down comforters, cotton-rich sheets and feather pillows.
