Sunshine Ridge Resort Opens in Oregon

. October 14, 2008

APRIL 2, 2008. Aventura Resorts, Inc., a developer of upscale RV resorts, announced that Sunshine Ridge will be open to the public for rental of RV sites May 1st. Aventura is renovating the old Western Horizons Columbia River Gorge Resort at Mosier, Oregon. The resort lies just above the Columbia Gorge Scenic Corridor.

The mountaintop resort enjoys sweeping views of Mt. Adams to the north and Mt. Hood to the south and is a short 10 minute drive from Hood River, to the west, the windsurfing capital of the U.S. and a popular, fast growing tourist destination. The Dalles, to the east, offers a glimpse into another time through its murals, museums and historic sites. The new resort's name Sunshine Ridge reflects its sunny and dry local and is only 60 easy freeway miles from not so dry Portland and western Oregon allowing for sunny mini vacations.

Aventura plans to develop 540 deeded lots in a country club environment that will feature a sporty executive golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, sunrise/sunset patios and a clubhouse with fitness facilities, hobby and activity centers. River cruises on the Columbia River will be available to owners and a vineyard is also planned since the property lies in the heart of the Columbia Gorge, a premium wine grape growing region boasting over 29 wineries.

Super-sized deeded lots offering secluded wooded sites as well as open meadows with unobstructed 360 degree views of the mountains, river and surrounding fruit orchards will be marketed to owners of large, Class A motorhomes. "Sportsmen, fishermen, boaters windsurfers, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts will be attracted to Sunshine Ridge as an alternative to purchasing expensive land and vacation homes," Gawne stated, "We're excited about the potential of this new RV resort because of its proximity to these popular activities only an hours drive from Portland."

The company has also factored in what it calls "Sunbirds" into its marketing plans. Sunbirds are residents of the southwest who head their RV's north to escape the heat of summer and believes Sunshine Ridge, only a one or two day drive, will be an attractive choice for these motorhomers.
