Brandywine River Museum Reopens Wyeth Studio

. October 14, 2008

CHADDS FORD, PA, April 3, 2008. The Brandywine River Museum has reopened the Kuerner Farm and N.C. Wyeth House and Studio for the 2008 tour season. These sites provide visitors with a unique opportunity to see where the Wyeth family of artists worked and were inspired.

At the N.C. Wyeth House and Studio, visitors have the opportunity to see the environment in which N.C. Wyeth created many of his memorable works of art and the house where he raised his extraordinarily creative children. Both the house and studio have been restored to reflect their character in 1945, the year of the artist's death.

In a separate tour, visitors can visit the historic Kuerner Farm. For more than 70 years, the Kuerner Farm has been a major source of inspiration to Andrew Wyeth. Since his earliest painting of the farm in 1932 at the age of 15, Wyeth has found subjects in its people, animals, buildings and landscapes for nearly 1,000 works of art.

N.C. Wyeth House and Studio Tours are Tuesday through Sunday. Kuerner Farm Tours are Thursday through Sunday. Tours are at timed intervals, and continue through November 23, 2008.

Transportation to the Kuerner Farm and N.C. Wyeth House and Studio is by shuttle bus from the Brandywine River Museum. Each tour is $5 per person, in addition to museum admission. Children under six are not permitted on the tours.
