. October 14, 2008

COFRESI, Dominican Republic , March 31, 2007. Maxim Bungalows, the Dominican Republic's newest luxury resort, today announced a partnership with Jeffrey Chodorow to open Social Dominican Republic at the Cofresi Beach location of the resort. Chodorow's first Caribbean outpost of Social will open on April 15, 2008.

Chef Angel Mejia will oversee Social Dominican Republic along with general manager Sean Mohammed, both formerly at Social Miami at Sagamore in sizzling South Beach. Designer Carlos Oroza of architecture firm Prada Kulich created an intimate setting for Social Dominican Republic, seating 70 guests inside and 40 outside. With design inspired by the old world luxury of grand ocean liners and the colonial aesthetic of the classic Bermuda clubs, Social Dominican Republic will become the center for Maxim Bungalows guests to gather, unwind, and celebrate as they savor views of the Atlantic Ocean and the dramatic mountains of the north shore of the Dominican Republic.

Social Dominican Republic will offer a global menu with daily specialty breakfast buffet as well as a lunch menu to span all tastes, including a create-your-own-salad menu and a selection of grilled seafood, poultry and meats to include Jumbo Prawns, Mahi Mahi, Ahi Tuna, Chicken, Filet Mignon, Cowboy Steaks and New York Strip, to name a few.

The dinner menu offers small plates such as Basil Cured Atlantic Salmon, served with cr`eme fraiche; Duck Salad with frisee, shiitake mushrooms, crispy matchstick potatoes, duck confit and balsamic vinaigrette; Gnocchi Oxtail Ragu with saved ricotta and mushrooms; Paella Croquetas with lobster, shrimp, saffron and chorizo; Jumbo Lump Crabcakes with fried green tomatoes and harissa mayonnaise; Tandoori Marinated Chicken Lollipops with vegetable cous cous and spicy yogurt sauce; and Kobe Beef Sliders with melting onions and gruyere cheese. Larger plates include Grilled Caribbean Lobster served with asparagus, brown butter, lime and cashews; Tournedos of Beef Rossini, with foie gras and truffle sauce, or the 28 oz. Porterhouse for Two, elegantly prepared with rosemary, garlic and olive oil.

Guests will also keep cool poolside and be pleasantly surprised by a pool menu which includes Frozen Chocolate Covered Cheesecake Lollipops, Mojito Sno-Cones, and Frozen Spiced Grapes with Rum, served throughout the day.

"Maxim Bungalows is introducing a new level of luxury to the Dominican Republic and Social Dominican Republic will serve the level of unparalleled cuisine our guests will expect," said Derek Elliott, President and Chief Executive Officer of ElliottTM.

"China Grill Management is about fun yet sophisticated fine dining. Maxim Bungalows Cofresi Beach is a perfect fit for our first Caribbean venue" said Jeffrey Chodorow.

The Dominican Republic, with regularly scheduled flights from North America, is only 3 1/2 hours from New York City, 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta and 1 hour and 45 minutes from Miami. It is a natural American vacation paradise situated between the islands of Cuba and Puerto Rico in the heart of the Latin Caribbean.
