MANHATTAN BEACH, CA, March 18, 2008. The Belamar Hotel, located in gorgeous Manhattan Beach, has unveiled a $2.2 million renovation, focusing on the lobby, a fabulous new restaurant called Second Story and state-of-the-art meeting facilities for corporate groups of all sizes. The hotel, owned and operated by Larkspur Hotels & Restaurants, stays true to its Southern California roots throughout, with bright colors, mod-style furniture and iconic artwork -- for a chic, unique lodging experience for guests ranging from business travelers to families.

"We are excited to be part of the Manhattan Beach hotel and restaurant scene," said Tom Beedon, General Manager of The Belamar Hotel. "Larkspur has a strong presence in Northern California, so we are very pleased to become the company's flagship Southern California hotel."

New lobby accents include a refurbished front desk and a newly designed natural-stone area surrounding the lobby's signature fireplace. Also introduced is the new second-floor restaurant, Second Story, featuring contemporary, healthy twists on all-American classics from Chef Vania Almeida.

Five brand new, one-of-a-kind meeting rooms, flexible for groups numbering from 2 to 100, have been created, giving The Belamar 7,095 square feet of meeting center space. Close attention to the latest technology, extraordinary value and service and unique design are the hallmarks of The Belamar's new meeting center.

"Our brand new meeting center is going to give us a sizeable competitive advantage," continued Beedon. "It's really a groundbreaking addition for South Bay meeting planners."

In a nod to the hotel's Los Angeles location, each room is named after a famous boulevard: Sunset, Hollywood, Wilshire, Beverly, Century and Ventura. Below are details about the new meeting rooms:

Technology:

Meeting rooms feature an array of exciting technological features such as free wireless, flat-panel 42" and 52" HDTV LCD screen monitors for crystal-clear presentations, desktop pop-up panels for laptops in some rooms, Bose speakers and high-definition audio and video switchers.

Extraordinary Value and Service:

The Belamar Hotel's meeting price per person includes breakfast, a mid-morning break, room rental, all audio visual, lunch in Second Story Restaurant, a mid-afternoon break, parking and both wired and wireless Internet. Meeting participants also have full access to the Business Center's faxing, copying, printing and FlyteBoards services.

In addition, all meeting packages included a dedicated personal concierge to handle requests. The "Boulevard Break Out" area is available to all meeting rooms and is fully stocked with premium bottled beverages, delicious healthy and tasty snacks as well as a freezer full of ice cream bars to keep energy levels high throughout the day.

Design:

A specially designed executive boardroom was designed to use clear and opaque glass to allow in easy-on-the-eyes natural light, but provide needed privacy at the same time.

The hotel's Business Center is a perfect complement to the new meeting room facilities. The Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offers guests HP computers, color printers, fax machines and all of the requisite office essentials. Jet-setting business travelers flying through LAX can check their departing or arriving flight status on the Center's FlyteBoard monitors, and can print out their boarding passes directly from the system. All Business Center services are complimentary.
