. October 14, 2008

MARCH 10, 2008. The newly transformed Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina (Hyatt) recently appointed Prescott Yee as the Director of Guest Services and Recreation. As a newly created position at the recently revamped Hyatt, the Director of Guest Services and Recreation will oversee Concierge staff, Recreation departments, including lifeguards at its three new pools, and the exclusive VIP lounge for Hyatt Club members called the Regency Club.

In addition to managing and training staff, Yee will also develop a new children's seasonal activities-based camp, expected to launch this summer, called Camp Hyatt, for children ages 4-12. Yee is also overhauling the current roster of summer activities offered at the resort and is working to offer water sports to guests, capitalizing on Hyatt's close proximity to Mission Bay. Yee will also manage the boat shuttle service to SeaWorld.

"We feel so fortunate to have such an excellent staff, and that includes our newest addition, Prescott Yee," said Mohsen Khaleghi, general manager at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina. "He brings important hospitality experience, creativity, excellent managerial skills and a passion for service that made him a great addition to the team."

Yee has earned numerous accolades for his achievements in hospitality, including Manager of the 1st Quarter from the Hyatt Regency Islandia Hotel, Hospitality Employee of the Year from the Hotel-Motel Association and a Better Business Bureau Torch Award. He also served as president of the San Diego Concierge Association for two years. Yee received a bachelor of science in hospitality management from the University of New Hampshire.

The reinvented waterfront Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina features 430 modernized guestrooms, three new swimming pools with waterslides, a health club on the water's edge and lush landscaping throughout the property. SWIM, a chic poolside bar and lounge serves scratch-made cocktails and a fusion menu of Pan-Latino inspired dishes. Red Marlin, the new signature waterfront restaurant, features panoramic views of Mission Bay and the boating dock. The California-modern menu created by Chef de Cuisine Danny Bannister features locally-grown produce and fresh ingredients. The new eco-friendly Blue Marble Spa, a member of the HyattPureTM Spa collection, dispenses the myth that conservation can't go hand in hand with luxury. A place of incredible beauty and intelligent design, Blue Marble offers a spa experience that will exceed guests' expectations with treatments featuring organic and all-natural products and eco-friendly practices.
