. October 14, 2008

TUCSON, AZ, September 19, 2005. Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, which was recently named for the tenth consecutive year as one of the "Top 100 Golf Resorts" by Cond'e Nast Traveler's annual reader's poll, is helping golfers break even with the Mind, Body & Birdie Package. Starting at $329 per person, based on double occupancy, the number twenty ranked golf resort in the United States boasting two Tom Fazio designed courses managed by Troon Golf, offers a one night package featuring tools to help golfers lower that stubborn scorecard, valid until December 30, 2005. *

On the award-winning course, which blends seamlessly into the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert, each golfer will begin their transformation with a one-hour golf stretching class focusing not only on the core muscles, but also includes mediation and visualization, a crucial part considering mental toughness is 50% of the game. Once mentally and physically warmed-up, golfers will head to the practice facility accompanied by the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort golf professional who will offer a full evaluation of swing technique and mechanics.

Each golfer will then hit the links to test out their new skills on either of Loews Ventana Canyon Resort's two par-72 courses. On the Canyon Course Tiger Woods-wannabes will play the signature 18th hole which features a partial island green and cascading waterfall, where on the Mountain Course guests can attempt a hole-in-one on the celebrated par-three third hole, the most photographed hole west of the Mississippi boasting panoramic views that stretch for a hundred miles south into Mexico and recently named the number one golf hole in Tucson by the Arizona Daily Star. The package is rounded out with a healthy boxed lunch for each guest, high in protein and carbohydrates featuring the hotel's signature salad nicoise wrap with ahi tuna, fresh vegetables and potatoes.

Both the Mountain Course, available for guest play on even dates, and the Canyon Course, available on odd dates, are designed to compliment the rock features of the Catalina Mountain foothills. Weaving through desert cactus and scenic canyons, both courses feature blue yucca, prickly pear cactus, flowering brittle brush, centuries-old cacti, as well as desert creatures such as quail, roadrunners, rabbits, deer and birds watching from the safety of the desert.

For golfers who want to head straight to the course, a one night golf package starting at $229 per person, based on double occupancy is also available including accommodations and a round of golf.
