Designer's Blends Contemporary Vision with Mizner's Sensibilities to Create a Modern Space with Trad

BOCA RATON, FL, September 19, 2005. The Great Hall of the famed Boca Raton Resort & Club has recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation, designed and overseen by acclaimed architect Alexandra Champalimaud. The Great Hall renovations began in July, 2005 and are expected to contribute to the reinvigoration of the Boca Raton Resort & Club, built in 1926 by legendary architect Addison Mizner. The new look blends a more authentic, contemporary feel with Mizner's original sensibilities, and features details reminiscent of 1930's Hollywood glamour.

The Great Hall's 26,000 square feet now feature a more luxurious atmosphere that integrates Mizner's original design philosophy with Ms. Champalimaud's contemporary vision. Rich layers of colors and textures including warm honey and chestnut colored wood paneling, lush carpeting, and custom created cubist inspired window treatments from Alexandra Champalimaud's Kravet Collection infuse the Great Hall with a feeling of 1930's Hollywood glamour. Two large, elegantly appointed windows have been added to each side of the room, inviting in an abundance of light, and allowing guests to enjoy sweeping views of the Intercoastal Waterway.

The Boca Raton Resort & Club boasts a total of 147,000 square-feet of conference space, each providing a distinct feel and an appropriate venue for every occasion, from an intimate board meeting to a large destination wedding for 1,500. In addition to the Great Hall, the resort offers 34 conference rooms totaling 24,000 square feet within The Cloister and The Tower and can accommodate groups from 10 to 1,500. The Cloister, the resort's signature building, features Mediterranean-influenced antiques and architecture. Meeting facilities within the 27-story Tower overlook the Intercoastal Waterway and provide inspiring views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Resort's grounds.

The spacious Mizner Center (80,000 square feet) is a third option for meetings, events or conventions. Built with flexibility, exclusivity, and design in mind, The Mizner Center can be broken out into four unique ballrooms each with a different d'ecor and style.

For smaller more intimate settings, The Yacht Club (7,700 square-feet) is reminiscent of a grand Venetian palace, with private balconies, sweeping views and elegant style. The Boca Beach Club (3,300 square-feet) and Boca Country Club (6,000 square-feet) meeting spaces provide a ocean-side location just steps from the sea, located on the resort's half-mile stretch of private beach.
