THE CARIBBEAN, September 15, 2005. Grab a Red Stripe, turn up the Reggae beats and imagine the white sand and ocean waves at your feet. Now take that Jamaican mindset and be inspired to come up with the winning name for Couples Swept Away's newest restaurant. Submit the winning name and receive a four-night/five-day all-inclusive stay for two at Couples Resorts with round trip airfare.
Feathers, Lemon Grass, The Palms and Sea Grape Caf'e currently provide four different dining options at Couples Swept Away, and now the public has the chance to name the newest restaurant addition, a 240-seat dining facility, part of a $7 million expansion project.
The Expansion Project: A three-story "Great House" is under construction to be made up of gift shops, disco, piano lounge, conference rooms, internet caf'e and game rooms. Additionally, 28 new suites are being added. Feathers, Couples Swept Away's award-winning gourmet restaurant will relocate to the new Great House as well and will feature an optional wine bar. Plus, a three-tiered infinity pool with two Jacuzzis and a swim up pool bar will be built alongside the new building. A 24-hour beach grill completes the project, which is slated to open February 2006.
The Restaurant With No Name: Included in the "Great House" project is a 240-seat open-air dining room. The restaurant will feature a large open 'show' kitchen with a wood stone pizza oven and rotisserie as its central elements. The menu will feature island style tapas, a shared plate style of dining, perfect for couples to share. The a la carte options will offer world cuisine with a Caribbean flair. An adjacent bar area will have deck seating over a portion of the new pool and all restaurant seating will provide views of the show kitchen or the pool and sea beyond.
The Contest Details: For one week, September 19-25, 2005, people can log on to www.couples.com/contest and enter the Couples Resorts' popular message board center. (New users can register by simply choosing a username and password). Then just click on the Restaurant Naming Contest Button and submit an entry. At the end of the week, Couples Resorts executives will choose three finalists from all the names submitted and post them on Couples.com from October 3-7, 2005 for past, present and potential guests to vote on the winning name. The winner and winning restaurant name will be announced on October 10, 2005.
The Prize: A four-night, five-day all-inclusive trip to Couples Swept Away for two, inclusive of airfare, to celebrate the restaurant grand opening. Restrictions apply. Airfare provided with a limit of US$500 expenditure per ticket.
