. October 14, 2008

FEBRUARY 14, 2008. New developments at The Westin Roco Ki Beach & Golf Resort which opens in Fall 2008, are gathering pace with the appointment of Randall Ha as general manager of the property. Ha will oversee all aspects of management of this luxury resort as well as day-to-day operations including training and development of staff.

Prior to joining the Westin Roco Ki Beach & Golf Resort, Ha served as managing director for The Westin & Sheraton Our Lucaya Resort in 2007. The resort located on Grand Bahama Island has 1,200 guest rooms and two championship-level golf courses. He managed a staff of approximately 900 on-island associates with 4 remote sales associates in key cities and 10 other sales associates located in the headquarters sales office in South Florida. Significant achievements were reached under Randall's leadership at the Westin & Sheraton Our Lucaya Resort including a marked increase of rate and revenues in what was a difficult travel year for the Caribbean.

From 2003-2007, Ha served as managing director at the Sheraton Waikiki and Royal Hotels, directing all aspects of operations for the property's 2,300 guest rooms. Annually, he met and exceeded revenue goals and led a team of 2000 associates to ensure high-quality service and total guest satisfaction, while serving as liaison between local ownership interest and Starwood Hotels.

Ha's other key engagements include: general manager at the Sheraton Maui Hotel from 1996-2003, hotel manager of the Sheraton Waikiki and Sheraton Maui hotels from 1992-1996, and executive assistant manager at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani & Royal Hawaiian Hotels from 1985-1989.

Ha is a career hotelier who climbed quickly through the ranks, starting as a bellman at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in 1976. He became assistant manager from 1979-1981. He holds a bachelors degree from the University of Hawaii in Honolulu and has completed courses with the American Hotel and Motel Association including Hotel/Motel Law and Food and Beverage Controls.

Sheraton Hotels in Hawaii/Japan division honored him with the Director of Operations Award in 1984 and 1986. Ha served on a number of associations including The Grand Bahamas Tourist Board, The Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association, The Japan-Hawaii Economic Council Member and The Japan America Organization.

Ha comes on board as The Westin Roco Ki gets set to enter an exciting phase. Opening in Fall 2008, this new luxury property will be the first U.S. branded resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
