France, Paris. March 03, 2025

Accor announced the signing of its newest addition to the Grand Mercure Hotels & Resorts portfolio in Greater China, with Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park. Residing in the prime location of Pudong District, adjacent to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the hotel has been a strong fixture of the Shanghai community for two decades and perfectly aligns with the ‘proudly local' brand ethos of Grand Mercure. Set to open in March 2025, Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park will welcome guests with an upgraded Grand Mercure brand experience. Accor currently has a portfolio of nearly 30 Grand Mercure hotels open and operating in Greater China - accounting for over a third of the premium brand's global portfolio - and 50+ addresses in development. Other key new openings in 2025 will include Grand Mercure Shenyang Oriental and Grand Mercure Wuxi Huishan.

"A new addition to our Grand Mercure portfolio is the perfect way to celebrate the Chinese New Year - particularly in Shanghai, one of Accor's top priority markets for growth," said Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China. "Much of the history of Grand Mercure has been shaped in China, contributing to its strong appeal among Chinese travelers who are drawn to the brand's immersive experiences that embrace national culture and stimulate the senses. Heading into 2025, we look forward to building on the brand's remarkable momentum, adding more discerning and cultured hotels in key destinations across the country."

Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park authentically reflects Shanghai culture, infusing classic traditions with modern flair. Guests are invited to discover a proudly local experience of bold colors, contemporary art, rich textiles, and traditional music. The hotel's 326 guestrooms include 57 suites, thoughtfully designed with premium comforts, sumptuous bedding, and an abundance of natural light. Two restaurants and a bar provide elevated local and international cuisine and a sensorial journey of flavors. An inviting fitness center, swimming pool, ballroom, multiple meeting rooms and an executive lounge create a comfortable environment for corporate guests and business travelers to enjoy their time in Shanghai.

The hotel resides at the entrance of Pudong Thumb Plaza, a popular shopping center with a wide array of retail boutiques, gourmet food, and a lively mix of entertainment and leisure facilities. The central location is next to the Shanghai New International Expo Center and within walking distance of the Century Park, and a short drive from Lujiazui Financial Center, People's Square, and the Bund. Within half an hour away, guests can discover Shanghai Disneyland, Shanghai Ocean Aquarium and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Overall, the excellent location and fresh cultural perspectives of Grand Mercure Shanghai Century Park make it an ideal choice for leisure and business travelers.
