The Wilde Resort & Spa in Sedona Appoints New General Manager Tobby Rau
The Wilde Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Tobby Rau as General Manager. With over 30 years of hospitality leadership experience, Rau brings extensive expertise in resort operations, food and beverage, and property-wide transformations. His proven track record of innovative problem-solving and operational excellence positions him to elevate the guest experience and drive The Wilde's next chapter of growth.

Rau joins The Wilde Resort & Spa from Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, where as General Manager he successfully led a multi-million dollar renovation of 137 guest rooms, public spaces, and eight acres of grounds. During his tenure, he also conceptualized and launched Willows Kitchen & Wine Bar, positioning it as a distinctive dining destination in Sedona's competitive market.
His distinguished career includes serving as Resort Manager and Acting General Manager at L'Auberge de Sedona, where he oversaw operations for both L'Auberge and Orchards Inn. Prior roles include Director of Operations at The Grove Resort & Spa in Orlando, where he was instrumental in launching a major water park. He has also held leadership positions at acclaimed properties including Streamsong Golf Resort, Royal Sonesta New Orleans, and multiple Destination Hotels & Resorts properties.
Rau's expertise extends beyond traditional hotel operations to include significant experience in restaurant concept development, having opened 14 restaurants and four hotels throughout his career. He has also served on numerous opening, reopening, and transition teams for prestigious properties including L'Auberge Del Mar and Terranea Resort in California.
An active member of the Sedona community, Rau resides in Cornville, Arizona, and enjoys hiking and exploring the region's renowned red rock landscapes with his family.
