The Hospitality Veteran of Nearly 20 Years Will Oversee All Sales and Marketing Efforts for the Two Iconic Santa Monica Properties
Viceroy Hotels & Resorts and Pebblebrook Hotel Trust are pleased to announce the appointment of Marta Hagan as director of sales and marketing of Viceroy Santa Monica and Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica. Bringing nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the hospitality industry to this role, Hagan is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all marketing and sales activities.
"We are excited to welcome Marta to the Viceroy Santa Monica and Le Meridien Delfina teams," said Sietse Nabben, area general manager for the two properties. "She brings incredible knowledge of Santa Monica and the Viceroy Hotels & Resorts brand to this role, and I look forward to working alongside her to promote all that our incredible hotels have to offer."
Hagan has been with Viceroy Hotels & Resorts since 2020, most recently as director of sales and marketing for Viceroy Los Cabos. In her time at the luxury Mexican resort, Hagan increased overall revenue by nearly 300%, including an increase in group revenue by 70% in 2022. She also managed agencies to align traditional marketing, digital, social, and public relations efforts to maximize return on investment and exposure in a highly competitive market.
She joins the area leadership team as Viceroy Santa Monica is fresh off the hotel's $21 million renovation, complete with all-new guestrooms and suites, newly designed common areas, an expansive outdoor space, and a signature restaurant and bar, Sugar Palm. The enhancement also added a new art collection, including commissioned works and interactive augmented reality pieces from various local artists.
"I am beyond thrilled to continue my tenure with Viceroy Hotels & Resorts in this new role with Viceroy Santa Monica and Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica," says Hagan. "Santa Monica is experiencing a revival of hospitality and I look forward to working alongside my talented colleagues to share this special destination and create lasting memories for our guests."
Hagan is familiar with Southern California's hospitality market through her work in various sales and marketing roles at a number of the area's prime hotels and resorts. Her resume includes stints at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, Hotel Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles, Hotel Erwin in Venice, The Shore Hotel in Santa Monica, and more. Throughout her career, she has excelled at securing creative and innovative partnerships, leading her hotels through successful rebrandings, rebuilding and redeploying sales teams, and curating client bases of corporate organizations and businesses through direct sales efforts.
Hagan received her bachelor's degree in sociology from University of Delaware. Marta currently resides in Venice, California, where she takes full advantage of the beach lifestyle, enjoying paddleboarding, hiking, and running with her dog.
