InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Appoints Ewart Wardhaugh as New Director of Food & Beverage
The Accomplished Executive Chef Will Bring a Fresh Perspective to the Property’s Established Food & Beverage Program
InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is pleased to announce the appointment of Ewart Wardhaugh to the role of Director of Food & Beverage. As a highly accomplished Executive Chef who has worked in countless cities and five out of seven continents, Wardhaugh is eager to bring his 20+ years of hands-on experience to the property's already esteemed food & beverage program, which includes a variety of elevated dining concepts including La Boucherie, a high-end steakhouse and seafood restaurant; Dekkadance, a farm-to-fork dining experience; and Spire 73, the tallest open-air restaurant and bar in the Western Hemisphere.

Prior to starting his role at InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, Wardhaugh's work has spanned a variety of different outlets including multiple five-star, five diamond properties, such as the Wynn Las Vegas, Raffles Singapore, and Sandy Lane Barbados. He has also worked multiple events side by side with culinary superstars including Michel Troigros, Joel Robuchon, Alain Ducasse, Thomas Kellar, Gordon Ramsey, Jean Louis Palladin, and Wolfgang Puck. When working with Wolfgang Puck, Wardhaugh participated with the team at the Oscars Governors Ball. At the beginning of his career, Wardhaugh even worked and cooked as a supporting chef on the very first two pilot shows of Iron Chef America, supporting chefs Todd English & Alex Stratta in 2002. Most recently, Wardhaugh worked as the Vice President of ScotchMyst, a multi-faceted food and beverage consulting firm that supports businesses, both new and established, through pre- and post-opening.
In this new role, Wardhaugh will leverage his extensive and unique skill set to bring further innovation and growth to the property's food & beverage program. He will lead the team in menu development, quality assurance, guest relations, project management, outlet innovation, and strategic planning. He will also work closely with the esteemed chefs and restaurant managers to create exciting new seasonal programming, events, and activations that will keep guests returning to each outlet.
