Conrad Hong Kong Appoints Stephane Roubin as Hotel Manager
Conrad Hong Kong announces Stephane Roubin as its Hotel Manager. A compassionate leader with far-reaching vision, he promises to help the hotel maintain its attention to detail that has impressed the guests, while injecting new elements to its services using his previous work experience as inspirations.
Born in France, Roubin holds a Master Degree on Hotel Management at the Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School in Lyon and a Bachelor Degree on Law at The University of Toulon. Since fifteen years ago when he joined the Hilton, Roubin has traveled across the globe, working in various establishments of the hotel chain. He always thrived on new challenges and played an instrumental role in making the hotels he oversaw the most successful hospitality destinations of their respective countries.
One of Roubin remarkable achievements is facilitating the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur as Food and Beverage Director. It was the first property under the DoubleTree label in Southeast Asia, and his endeavor laid crucial foundation to the favorable reputation of the restaurants there. After that, Roubin's esteemed career continued at Hilton Colombo Residence, and most recently at Conrad Bali, as Director of Operations. While being no stranger to the culture of the region, the industry veteran finds much excitement in his new home.
"I am happy to go back to the cosmopolitan setting. Hong Kong is one of the key destinations in Asia, and I am joining one of the best hotels in this part of the world. You can feel there is a lot of history with Conrad Hong Kong," he says, "It is palpable just walking around. When you have breakfast in the morning or attend an executive lunch here, you would sense there is always something going on, something very positive."
Although having just arrived, Roubin did not waste any time getting to know his colleagues. "You are only as good as your team members. The people working here are passionate about hospitality -- I have heard guests are coming back to Conrad Hong Kong just because of them. This is the value I cherish."
Building on a strong body of team members, the newly appointed Hotel Manager will concentrate on their continued development, which he sees as a primary means for providing seamless services to guests. At the same time, he also notes the importance of showing diversity in assigning responsibilities to the young talents at the hotel.
"It is very important for us to give more opportunities to the team members, regardless of where they are from. We want all our team members to be proud of working here," he emphasizes.
A vocal advocate for environmental protection, it delights Roubin to see the eco-conscious initiatives Travel with Purpose and Meet with Purpose already in place at Conrad Hong Kong. As another goal of his stint, he plans of working with the restaurants of the hotel to employ more organic ingredients in the dishes. "We try to do the right thing at the right time," he concludes.
"We are very happy to welcome Stephane onboard," Thomas Hoeborn, General Manager of Conrad Hong Kong, comments, "I am confident that under his leadership, the hotel's service quality will reach new heights."
