PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten, September 20, 2006. The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino is redefining comfort and luxury. The beachfront resort has announced its plan to renovate 115 current rooms and suites to better accommodate guests. The more than $2.5 million project is set to create Premiere Rooms, complying to a theme of "refined Caribbean elegance" for a true feeling of an island in paradise. Rooms are scheduled for completion on December 1, 2006.

"This is an exciting period in the resort's development," said Danilo Checcucci, general manager of the resort. "The Sonesta Maho is committed to providing excellent service and creating a better experience for our guests during their stay. All changes were made with our guests' comfort in mind."

Exquisitely styled and lavishly appointed, the new Premiere Rooms, located in the resort's main building on the top three floors, are perfected with contemporary design and personalized hospitality. Throughout all guestrooms, sumptuous teakwood furniture creates a warm atmosphere while cool blues and greens compliment the d'ecor. All rooms feature a balcony with a panoramic island view, creating a relaxing ambiance. In addition, spacious granite bathrooms with glass-enclosed rain-head showers and stainless steel designer accents are a true indulgence. All of these will compliment the standard amenities in all rooms, which include satellite television, high-speed wireless Internet, alarm clock radio, coffeemaker, hair dryer, iron/ironing board and electronic safe.
