Caneel Bay Appoints Director of Food & Beverage and Resident Manager

ST JOHN, USVI, March 29, 2007. Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort on St. John, USVI is pleased to announce the appointment of Se'an Carney as Director of Food & Beverage and Nikolay Hotze as its new Resident Manager.

With a broad F&B background earned at hotels and resorts from Hawaii to New York, Sean Carney will be responsible for all food and beverage operations at Caneel Bay, including four distinct restaurants, The Wine Room, in-room dining and special events.

Carney joins Caneel Bay following 13 years in the hospitality industry. Most recently, Carney spent three years as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at Hilton Short Hills in northern New Jersey. His extensive experience in the field also includes serving as Maitre D' at the Nikolais Roof restaurant as well as Beverage Manager at the Hilton and Towers in Atlanta; Room Service Manager at Ritz Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta; Assistant Beverage Manager and Restaurant Manager at Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii; and Restaurant Manager of The Terrace Restaurant at Rye Town Hilton in Rye, New York.

Born in Ireland, Carney earned a Higher National Diploma from Northern Ireland Hotel and Catering College and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in International Hospitality Management from Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh in Scotland.

Trained in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States - including Acqualina, A Rosewood Resort in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida - Nikolay Hotze will be responsible for all day-to-day operations and overseeing the staff at the renowned Caribbean retreat.

Hotze is no stranger to the renowned reputation of Rosewood, having spent the past year-and-a-half as Hotel Manager of Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Hotze had been selected by Acqualina's owners during the property's planning and construction phase to assemble a top-flight management team, oversee 270 employees and arranging service contracts with third-party vendors.

Prior to joining the Rosewood family, Hotze held food and beverage management positions at several Miami-based properties, including Loews Hotel, Tides Hotel, Marlin Hotel and the Doral Golf Resort & Spa. Hotze began his career in the hospitality industry in London with the Savoy Hotel Group.

A native of Germany, Hotze earned a degree in Hotel Administration from German Abitur in Kiel, Germany in 1994.
