New Director of Outlet Operations at the MODERN Honolulu

HONOLULU, HI - May 14, 2014 - The MODERN Honolulu has appointed Timothy Gustie as the hotel's new Director of Outlet Operations. Gustie brings 23 years of comprehensive hospitality experience to The MODERN Honolulu team. As an expert in the food and beverage industry, his knowledge will further drive the success of the leading Honolulu hotel's culinary outlets including The Study lounge, The Grove and Passageway restaurants and pool bars and ADDICTION nightclub. The MODERN is also home to Morimoto Waikiki, recently named the city's best Japanese restaurant by Honolulu Magazine, which Gustie will also be collaborating with.

Gustie most recently served for as the Director of Food and Beverage with Dorchester Collection at The Beverly Hills Hotel, where he spent two years. There, his capabilities included improving employee satisfaction scores, managing a renovation, and coordinating the hotel's grand re-opening. Prior to joining The Beverly Hills Hotel, Gustie served as the Director of Food & Beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel Company, including the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara, Beverly Wilshire and Four Seasons Resort Maui. During his time there, Gustie developed and executed the renovation plans for a multi-million dollar food and beverage operation. Gustie also held a position at Le Merigot Hotel, where he authored and implemented training program for all Food and Beverage managers and employees and helped create restaurant concepts and menus alongside the property's General Manager and Executive Chef.

As The MODERN Honolulu's Director of Outlet Operations, Gustie will plan and direct the functions of administration and planning of the various hotel outlets to meet the daily needs of operation. Additionally, he will assign, mentor, and delegate responsibilities and authority for the operation of the various food and beverage sub-departments. Gustie will also develop and maintain outlets' budget for maximum profitability.
