Melia Hotels International Launches Development of 132-key ME Milan Il Duca to Open in Italy in 2015

Milan, Italy - March 19, 2014 - Today, leading global hotel company, Meliá Hotels International, announces a new milestone for its cutting edge lifestyle brand ME by Meliá. Specializing in modern and high energy hotels located in the heart of cosmopolitan cities, ME by Meliá will open its Milan doors near the famous "fashion quadrilateral" at the Piazza della Repubblica in 2015. The hotel will be close to the Corso Como, one of the chicest areas of the fashion capital.

ME Milan Il Duca, which will be housed in a building designed by renowned architect Aldo Rossi, will be completely renovated to the style of the late architect. The hotel will contain 132 guest rooms, including 34 suites, as well as ultra-modern conference rooms and a lounge-bar and restaurant. One suite in particular is the signature "Suite ME" penthouse, a ME by Meliá brand standard for showcasing cutting-edge art and design. The rooftop bar, a hallmark of ME urban hotels, will be an impressive 2,000 square feet in size and will boast panoramic views of the city, highlighting Milan's breath-taking sights such as the Garibaldi towers.
